The church of Sant P\u00e8ir de Gessa is of Romanesque origin. It dates from the 12th century but the construction that we can currently see is from the 17th century. The base of the chapel is from the 12th century, although today we find it very reformed. The contrast of its slender hexagonal bell tower on a thick and strong square tower has a special charm. The north door is neoclassical in style. The church has three side chapels on both sides, a semicircular apse and a bell tower with a square tower.<\/span><\/p>\n

The bell tower (from the 17th century), isolated on the east side, has been built in masonry and the corners have been reinforced with stonework. In the upper part there are rectangular and semicircular openings, and under the eaves there are decorated corbels. The altar is Baroque and preserves a foot of a previous one in Romanesque style. It also has a Romanesque baptismal font and a magnificent pictorial panel from the 17th century.<\/span><\/p>\n
