Crossing the Pla de Beret you reach Montgarri (1,645 m) which due to its isolation was completely depopulated between 1945 and 1955.

The Sanctuary of Montgarri, located to the left of the Noguera Pallaresa, dates from the 16th century and some elements of the
Romanesque building remain, with a single nave, good proportions and a wooden roof, the octagonal bell tower finished in arrow.

A polychrome wooden cross with a nailed Christ from the 13th century is preserved in the Frederic Marès Museum in Barcelona.

A short distance from Salardú, elevated further to the N, at an altitude of 1,280 m, is the small town of Unha (114 inhabitants), at the foot of Pui de Unha, dominated by the SE Unhòla river shortly before its confluence with the river Garonne. At its entrance coming from Salardú, we find one of the most interesting civil buildings in the Valley, Ço de Brastet, an old manor house built in 1580, fortified, with Renaissance windows and portal.

At the other end of the nucleus is the parish church of Santa Eulalia, a Romanesque building (12th century), with an irregular floor plan and small dimensions, divided into three unequal naves for circular pillars that support semicircular arches, from where the vaults of the cover.

The octagonal bell tower with a square base dates from 1775 and its roof has a peculiar bulb-shaped finish, with an oriental air.

Capital of the municipality of Naut Aran, with 597 inhabitants and at an altitude of 1,268 m., on a rocky elevation to the right of the Garona river, and where it meets the Unhòla river, which surrounds the core of Salardú to the N and to the E .
Given its strategic location at the entrance of the Valley through the port of Bonaigua, it resulted in the town being fortified since the medieval period. In the upper part, where the church is today, there was the castle of Salardú, the master tower must have been the current bell tower. Today, there are few remains of the fortification near the apse of the church.

However, some houses with 17th century windows have been preserved. The Plaza Mayor is the center of the old town and has a beautiful 19th century fountain. The parish church of Sant Andreu, located at the top, presiding over a beautiful square enclosed by a wall, should be highlighted. It is a transitional building from the 12th-13th centuries, the door is Romanesque and has some Gothic windows. The bell tower, one of the most prominent in the Valley, has an octagonal plan, dates back to the 15th century and forms a body apart from the SW angle. It is very slender and equipped with arrowheads that give it a defensive character.

The town of Gessa (163 inhabitants) is located at an altitude of 1,232 m, at the foot of the Corilha mountain and next to the Corilha ravine. Presiding over the small group of houses is the parish church of Sant Pèir, a building of Romanesque origins that has been extensively renovated.

Inside, it retains Romanesque elements: a baptismal font, a stone cube and an altar foot. The image of Sant Pèir, in the center of the high altar altarpiece, is a polychrome carving of the best found in the Valley. There is also a display case in which an interesting collection of sculptures of religious themes made of boxwood, made by Francesc Pont, is displayed.

The town of Tredòs (170 inhabitants) is located at an altitude of 1,348 m, to the right of the Garonne river. It has three Romanesque churches, the chapel of the Virgen del Rosario, a small rectangular chapel without an apse touching the bridge over the Garonne, with a small bell tower attached to the north wall.

Inside, the holy water font in the hall stands out, with a very well worked white marble Attic Roman base; The church of San Esteban, is a small chapel from the first half of the 11th century to the left of the river with a bell tower that is a mixture of a tower and a belfry, with an original holy water font.

The town of Bagergue (102 inhabitants) is the highest in the Valley, located at an altitude of 1,419 m, in the southernmost sector of the Unhòla valley.

Through its cobbled and orderly streets, you can go for a walk to visit the private museum “Eth Corrau”, a sample of 2,500 objects that reflect an ancestral culture, traditions, world of work and artisans.

In Bagergue we highlight the parish church of San Félix, initially Romanesque, from the 13th century, which underwent transformations, the original semicircular apse was replaced by a square presbytery and two chapels, a sacristy and a bell tower were added. Inside the nave we find a very primary Christ from the Gothic transition period, who expresses great pain on his face, with his head crowned with thorns and his body scourged. We also find a pre-Romanesque funerary stele of considerable importance.

The town of Arties (400 inhabitants) is located at 1,143 m above sea level, at the confluence of the Valarties river with the Garonne river, in a small area of ​​the Val. At the end of the village, the Valarties riverbank dominated by the Tuc del Montardo (2,833 m) takes us to the head of the Valarties river where there are the ponds of Mar, Tòrt, de Rius, the one of Restanca with its mountain refuge next to it and other minors

In the old town, the parish church of Sta. Maria d’Arties, Romanesque construction from the 11th to the 12th century, with a very elegant bell tower built in the last years of the 13th and early 14th centuries, it also has a Romanesque bell tower.

The church has three naves separated by cylindrical pillars, which have no bases. These pillars are crowned by a square and undecorated abacus from those that tear off the semicircular arches that support the walls. The important number and quality of his paintings stands out. To the N of the town, to the right of the Garonne and on the other side of the road, there is the church of Sant Joan d’Arties, a Gothic building from the late 13th century, early 14th century, with an octagonal bell tower. It is currently a museum facility, which hosts traveling exhibitions.

The town of Garòs (136 inhabitants) located at 1,115 m altitude is the border between the Naut Aran and the Mig Aran. The town rises a little above the valley, to the right of the Garona, between the ravines of Cal and Salider.

The parish church of Sant Julià, which centers the old town, is of Romanesque origin, but was thoroughly renovated in the 15th century. The bell tower dates from 1619, and due to its “dimensions” it looks like a defense tower.
